Vampire Hair Restoration
Hair loss can be traumatic for both men and women. The Vampire Hair™ Restoration triggers hair follicles in the telogen (resting) phase which establishes brand-new hair growth.
Vampire Hair™ Restoration treatment at Regenerative Medicine & Biologics Institute uses elements within the platelet portion of the patient’s own blood to stimulate new hair growth — and revitalize the dormant hair cells.
RMBI Vampire Procedures
As with all Regenerative Medicine & Biologics Institute Vampire Procedures, studies show the use of PRP to be an effective therapeutic option for men and women suffering from hair loss.
PRP for Hair Loss
Unlike topical hair loss products, regenerative hair loss techniques uses the patients own PRP which has revolutionized the treatment of hair loss and hair restoration. This provides a more natural and long-lasting stimulation of the native hair follicle and healthier hair growth.
During the restoration process, Dr. Kevin Smith examines the scalp to determine how much PRP will be needed for the procedure. Then the scalp is cleaned and a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area. Our team will then draw your blood and begin the double spin PRP process.
Dr. Smith will inject the PRP directly into the scalp using a grid pattern over the entire thinning or balding area. Using a microneedling pen, he will apply a second layer of PRP to activate the dormant hair follicles from underneath the surface, as well as on the surface of the scalp. This step-by-step process assures that the patient gets the best results.
Denoted as an expert in all Vampire procedures, Dr. Smith was trained by Dr. Charles Runels — inventor and genius mind behind this revolutionary treatment that has changed the lives of so many with hair loss.
Advantages of Vampire Hair™ Restoration
Vampire Hair™ Restoration has several advantages for patients with hair loss or thinning hair:
- Autologous treatment (using a substance obtained from your own body)
- Simple, non-surgical procedure
- Multiple injections in one treatment
- The procedure typically takes less than an hour
- No downtime after treatment
- Safe, reliable, natural-looking results
PRP Therapy protects hair from additional shedding, renews miniaturizing hairs for improved growth, and restores hair quality and quantity for patients with thinning hair. Vampire Hair™ Restoration candidates include male and females with hereditary hair loss, Alopecia Areata, Hypotrichosis (decreased hair growth) of eyebrows — and patients who’ve had unsuccessful surgical hair restoration previously, and those who want to maintain hair without using medication like Propecia or Rogaine.
The physician, Kevin Smith, MD, will come in and look at the scalp to determine how much PRP will be needed for the procedure. RMBI staff will then come in and clean the scalp and put a topical numbing cream over the area that will be treated. We will then draw your blood and begin the double spin PRP process. The numbing cream will need to sit for an approximately 30 minutes.
Kevin Smith, MD, will inject the PRP directly into the scalp using a grid pattern over the entire thinning or balding area. Using our micro-needling pen Dr. Smith will then apply a second layer of PRP. This will activate the dormant hair follicles from underneath the surface as well as on the surface of the scalp, assuring that the patient gets the best results.

Vampire Hair™ Restoration is a safe procedure without any common side effects. PRP treatments are considered completely safe and natural as you are using growth factors from your own body with a sterile technique, so there is almost no chance of blood infection or an adverse immune response.
Vampire Hair™ Restoration comes with zero downtime. Patient’s must avoid washing hair until a day or two after treatment. After that period, you can style your hair as you usually do. You may experience some discomfort such as tightness of scalp, redness, and swelling from the micro needling for up to 48 hours. However, you can manage it with analgesic like Tylenol. Avoid drugs like Aspirin, Aleve, Advil, ibuprofen, and other NSAIDS.
Just like with all PRP procedures, the patient will see the full results between 8 and 12 weeks. However, the patient should start to see a difference after the first 2-3 weeks. Each patient heals differently so the results are different for everyone.
