P-Shot: What is it, the Process, Benefits, Cost

A P-Shot or Priapus Shot® is an injection of platelet rich plasma for improved male sexual wellness. It is a non-surgical procedure using an injection of platelet rich plasma into the penis for enhancement in male sexual health, sexual function, sexual performance, penis length, and girth.

The Process of the P-shot Procedure

The P-Shot is an outpatient procedure. Once the procedure begins, the doctor will:

  1. Apply a cream or ointment that numbs the genital area and give you a local anesthetic that numbs the area around it, too.
  2. Take a blood sample from the body (typically from the arm or somewhere non-invasive) into a testing tube.
  3. Put the testing tube in a centrifuge for a few minutes to separate the components of your blood and isolate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
  4. Extract PRP from the testing tube fluid and put them into two separate syringes for injection.
  5. Inject PRP into the penile shaft. This is completed in a few minutes with about 4 to 5 separate injections.

What is the Average cost of a P-shot?

This procedure is elective and only offered by a few trained doctors. It’s also not covered by most health insurance plans. The procedure can cost anywhere from $800 to $2,000. The actual cost of a P-shot is dependent upon location, board certified plastic surgeon, and length and involvement of the plastic surgery.
