Regenerative Therapies

Regenerative medicine can be defined as ‘an interdisciplinary field of research and clinical applications focused on the repair, replacement or regeneration of cells, tissues or organs to restore impaired function resulting from any cause, including congenital defects, disease, trauma and ageing’.

Regenerative aesthetics refers to the application of regenerative medicine principles in aesthetic or cosmetic treatments, products and services. Regenerative medicine is the harnessing or management of the body’s own natural potential to repair, restore and rejuvenate damaged or aging cells and structures to a more healthy and youthful state. The human body is blessed with an incredible potential to repair and rejuvenate itself through the intricate and complicated interaction of growth factors and specific signaling peptides.

PRP-Spine
Dr. Smith is a leader, and one of the few doctors, who has expertise in regenerative spinal injections.

In our office we have all the tools necessarily to give you the best possible outcome for your regenerative procedure. We offer fluoroscope, ultrasound, and sedation to ensure comfort and precision. Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP, is a three-step process. First, we draw your blood. Next, we use a machine called a centrifuge to spin the blood at a high speed to separate the red blood cells from the plasma (yellow fluid) that the red blood cells usually float in. Lastly, we extract the plasma so it can be injected.

The plasma contains platelets, which have over 7 different growth factors to help stimulate soft tissue healing and decrease inflammation. Our PRP is the highest quality and can be utilized if you are looking to avoid surgery or other invasive procedures.
